Storage
Liquid hydrogen cyanide is highly flammable and should never be kept near ignition sources, welding operations, flames of hot surfaces. HCN contains a stablizer in which will decompose over a period of time. If it is not maintained, the sample may explode. If the container is not labled with an age, do not attempt to open it. Store HCN contents in a cool, dry, well ventilated area away from sunlight. It is highly recommended installation of leak detectors and alarm systems be done and not to store conatiner of HCN exceding 90 days. Never drop or damage containers or heat container more than 51 deg C. Container should be inspected regularly for cracks, leaks and other damages. Store conatiners vertically up-right. Store containers securely with restricted access. Limit HCN storage in small quantitied.
Disposal
Liquid hydrogen cyanide can be disposed by atomizing in a combustion chamber. HCN should always be disposed as hazardous waste.
